So i felt better and was drifting off to sleep and all of a sudden there was this bright light of explosion right in my eye socket. The author has categorized the book under christian biography but there are problems with what she “learned” during her experience. There is a great synopsis from her book online at this link: I am glad we have multiple accounts from people who have attempted to take their own lives and recovered.
Preview — Beyond the Darkness by Angie Fenimore. I will be forever grateful my father was inspired to return quickly from an errand on which she had sent him to find her still alive before the drugs had completed their work. This was very entertaining, but she didn’t go into as much detail about her NDE as I was expecting.

This is a book which falls into two main parts which the author attempts to link together.
Her journey to antie and back is charted in an astoundingly vivid account which proves hard to put down. Book description A victim of childhood abuse and a would-be suicide recounts her descent into a hell of terrifying visions and psychic disintegration on the other side of the grave and her return to life through religious faith.
Ive never experienced something like it before. My mother attempted suicide once. Without trying to offend any Catholics who might be reading this, there is no purgatory listed anywhere in the Bible! Are you sure you want to remove Beyond the darkness from your list?

Although the events leading up to her near-death experience is sad, her story ends in a message of hope and love. Jan 30, Nicolette Froelicher rated it it was amazing Shelves: She had failed to reach out for help and instead wallowed in her depression listening to dark, rock music that fed into the ideas of suicide, refusing counsel from her minister, pushing away her husband and friends when they tried to reach out to her, etc.

Though I enjoyed the read, it didn’t leave me with any true sense of peace about her situation. This gives a lot more details and was an easy read. Very much a hard knock life, but at the same time, much of it was the author’s own making.
It struck me that she may not have actually died at all, but rather had a lucid, drug-induced experience.
