There are some whiffs of awkward clumsiness brnna the writing here – places that could be polished – but I’m not sure if smoothing those stylistic edges wouldn’t also take away from the vitality here. While Saxon suffers rbenna Lori, a little town out of Sussex County, Brenna spends a couple of weeks in Ireland where she hangs with a new and extremely handsome Devon and her new, wild and gorgeous best friend Evan.

In her spare time she likes to listen to corny jokes her kid reads to her from ice-pop sticks, watch her Liz Reinhardt is a perpetually homesick NJ native who migrated to the deep South a decade ago with her funny kid, motor-head husband, and growing pack of mutts.

Finally, there was nothing else I could do to stall. Brenna Blixen spent her freshman year homeschooling in Denmark; now that she’s back in the States, brena determined to make her sophomore year unforgettable.

I could hear music and laughing and yells in the background. View all 8 comments. Double Clutch was just brilliant! I love that this book wasn’t afraid to go in to details on Hopefully I am making some sense. A review copy was provided btenna the author.

Double Clutch (Brenna Blixen, #1) by Liz Reinhardt

Will he change for a girl? I ended up getting so sucked in I spent the day reading Double Clutch. Will he cheat on Brenna with the pretty rich kids? But there is so much more to him than people see. But can she salvage the both before the beat themselves up over her? Her POV always rushed by for me.

I would say she is what I need the main character to be. The main characters are each fleshed out perfectly; I adore Brenna who is intelligent, compassionate, witty and switched on; she really knows what she wants in life which I think is wonderful. Neither boy is even close to perfect, though, which makes for some uncomfortable moments and history, but also some fairly realistic ones, including some wince-inducing bluntness from Saxon in particular.

While he can be a bit of a jerk sometimes, I found him brfnna be the most interesting and amusing. I really hope that she is planning a fourth book but so far have not found anything to indicate that. This book contains hot teen sex, and should only be read by the older YA demographic.

Slow Twitch (A Brenna Blixen Novel)

Brenna was definitely the reason I kept reading the book. When she isn’t writing, Liz Reinhardt teaches a fantastic group of diverse 8th graders in Savannah, GA. When everyone is back together, things have changed. That’s the real question. Apr 02, Rita rated it liked it Shelves: The next time you’re in the mood to wriggle your toes over some adorable dates or swoon over some cute guys, consider giving Double Clutch a try!

Then there was Brenna’s friend Evan.

Mind, it is not perfect then again, not even the traditionally published ones are blixeen this series and this author are certainly worth keepi Every blixeh I decide to delve into self-published shaky territory I get worried. Brenna is bubbly and cute. Jake is trying his hand at being a Maclean for the summer. I started out truly torn over these two incredibly likeable characters – one so open, kind and loyal, the other so charming and suave.

This review also appears in The Midnight Garden.

No trivia or quizzes yet. It was still great though, and I enjoyed the steamy scenes to say the least.

I’m not sure if this is the last book in this series, but it could be, and if so it would work, despite a lack of complete and utter closure on all fronts. This book was my favorite of the three. Brenna is new to town, and on her first day at school she meeds moody bad boy, Saxon. I kept expecting a halo to start glowing over her head at any minute.

Aug 04, Mary rated it liked it Shelves: I need to comment on the cover- who is this supposed to be? This story presents the ultimate love triangle without taking the betrayal and lies to an unforgivable level.

But then there’s Saxon who is totally my kind of guy. This is written for Older YA, and I could see why! The rest of what I have to say is spoilerish so I will spoiler out I hope the rest of this review. Wishing you tons of success and I look forward to reading your future books!
