The Midnight Palace

Okay, it’s safe to continue reading the rest of the review now. I am not in any way compensated for this review shucks. Ian, el personaje que en ocasiones narra la medoanoche desde su punto de vista, fue uno de mis favoritos.

The boy, Ben, is abandoned at an orphanage, while his sister, Sheere, goes to live with her grandmother in hiding. I did a lot of skimming. And it’s true, I wasn’t. I also think that, aforementioned problems aside, Mr RZ definitely knows how to tell a thrilling story. But seriously now, Calcutta ?

Maybe I’ll read his next YA translation due May ! Thanks for telling us about the problem. palaclo

Refresh mecianoche try again. In a word, I became old. Why did he build it so weird? And why is it the girl always has to be the one sacrifice herself? Published July 12th by Editorial Planeta first published November 18th How can Ben and Sheere have a mystical connection because they were twins separated at birth? What I did need to figure out was the why, which is what kept me going.

I was actually kind of angry by the end because I really wanted to like zaofn book and find it creepy, like Prince of Mist. I understand that it is meant for teenagers and The only reason that I am giving this book a star is because I happen to be a Zafon’s fan.

Looking at it from their eyes, it will certainly enthrall and frightening them. Now, a mysterious stranger calling himself Jawahal is after the twins, but Ben and his friends are determined to get to the bottom of the whole affair before anyone gets hurt.

I have to admit that I’ve skimmed through the last 40 pages-I just don’t understand why Jawahal had to make everything so freaking complicated. Un espectro de fuego siembra el terror en las sombras de la noche. The Midnight Palace tells us the story of the twins Ben and Sheere. Nov 12, Flor rated it liked it.

It was difficult to follow. This one reads like classic Zafon, of whom I am a big fan. Like, stop being so dramatic, dude. My only complain about Midnight Palace is that it’s set in India, which is as exotic a setting as you can get. Maybe it’s because I didn’t like Ben,or maybe it’s because I wasn’t particularly interested in the story. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up. It had its little quirky um-where’d-that-come-from? Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read.

Esta vez somos llevados a la ciudad negra, Calcuta del siglo XX, donde un hombre huye, protegiendo la vida de dos bebes a los que el destino les dicto una suerte no deseada por nadie. He is also the author of three more young-adult novels, El palacio de la medianocheLas luces de septiembre and Marina Este livro foi escrito ainda o autor era um jovem escritor Since its publication, La sombra del viento has garnered critical acclaim around the world and has won numerous international awards.

Notwithstanding the somewhat predictable foundation of the plot and the tacky little parts scattered in the storyline, I enjoyed this book immensely. The little “showdown” and “game” towards the end, too, was a bit tacky.

A man was after the twins, but Peake managed to deliver them to their grandmother, right before losing his life. The story opens with a British soldier delivering infant twins from imminent danger.

Yes, I’m a scaredy-cat, but still.

It was a good conclusion to their journey. Ben and his friends are due to leave le orphanage which has been their home for sixteen years. Sometimes the difference between them is hard to see, but in the end time will show you that the cards you have been dealt could always have been worse. I hated the Chowbar society members, all of them and I was more sympethtic to Jawahel -villain- but Zafon my man this thing sounded like a movie from Bollywood! The ending,on the other hand,I actually really liked.

Years later, on the farlos of Ben and Sheere’s sixteenth birthday, the mysterious threat reenters their lives. The setting for the book is almost a character in and of itself as are several of the locations throughout, including the titular “Midnight Mesianoche. If you’ve read his stuff and read this, then you’ll probably know what I mean.

The Midnight Palace

Not only that, but that both of the lives appear to be in danger from a mysterious entity that is somehow connected to their later father, a brilliant engineer responsible for building the train system connecting major cities meianoche India.

Or the ones who pretend they don’t see what’s going on around them? The book primarily focuses on Ben.
