I think the book’s age references Performancs actually helps it in some ways, as it discusses guidelines and practices for improved performance on browsers much less powerful than we have now. Definitely worth a read.
Here is where the A disappointment, but mostly due to its age. Practical, well-written, and short. Loops and recursion can work against you when it comes to runtime performance.
